At Home Learning

Learning through Play at Home

Children are born naturally curious and ready to learn. Play is the natural way children develop ideas and learn skills. When they play, children create, experiment, think, communicate, remember, imagine and try to work out what might happen next. Visit the Department of Education website to find out more…

Homework

All homework at primary school level is discretionary. However, students in junior years are encouraged to read widely, be read to, complete simple writing tasks and undertake concrete manipulation of materials relating to real-life mathematics. Students in middle and upper years are supported to prepare themselves for further studies and increasing homework commitments can be expected. Homework diaries support student self-management.

Students are encouraged to borrow books from the school library as well as use online resources such as Reading Eggs, Math Seeds and Mathletics for home skills practice.
